Midlands Commercial vehicle specialist Aquila Group is celebrating the New Year with first order from Hayes Freight for two used MAN tractor units.
Hayes Freight is a new customer for Aquila. The business specialises in moving steel across the UK.
Hayes Freight was established in 1935 by William Hayes. Today the business is run by his grandson Adam, who has been with the business for the last 30 years.
Speaking of the new deal, Adam said: “Our family firm specialises in moving steel across the UK and we can be transporting anything up to 28 tonnes of it on any one vehicle.
“We’ve previously purchased Scania trucks but more recently have moved to MAN. This is predominately to get better value for money. Our fleet is currently 21 vehicles and we’re looking to maintain this level of service in the coming years.”
Alongside vehicles, Hayes Freight has also purchased parts from Aquila. Kelly Malpass, business development manager for Aquila, based in Tipton, said:
“We work hard to develop new relationships across the regions and sectors in which we operate. Our used vehicle operation continues to grow year on year and our objective is to develop relationships like the one with Hayes Freight to offer a one-stop solution of vehicles, parts and servicing.”
The Aquila Group was founded by Gary Mullaney in 2003 and has enjoyed a decade of growth. Its custom built workshop bays boast the very latest in technology and can accommodate every vehicle type from light commercial vehicles through to buses and coaches and special application vehicles up to 50 tonnes.
This operation is supported by the largest MAN parts operation in the Midlands, with truck and trailer parts on demand, express delivery covering the whole of the Midlands and North Wales and a 24 hour parts counter.
